Just like the Cannondale, the Trek X-Caliber gets you better parts for just under $1000. Rockshox 30 Silver suspension fork with Shimano Acera drive train and Bontrager seatpost, handlebars and steam. Trek also offers a 27.5 and a 29 inch version of the same bike based on the frame size.

Commencal Meta HT Origin – $1099

Here’s a bonus bike. Just over $1000, the Commencal is the only All Mountain bike listed here. It’s definitely a step up from the bikes mentioned above and it’s targeted for people trying to get into all mountain discipline, while on a budget.

The Meta HT Origin comes with a Rockshox Sektor TK Solo Air Silver 140mm, SRAM X5 drive train, Maxxis High Roller tires (better traction) and Avid DB1 brakes with 200mm rotor at the front and 180mm in the back.
